I woke on Wednesday morning to this view:
Frosty to say the least.
While on the annual Boxing Day sale shop, which was very disappointing might I add, I came across a variety of t-shirt style dresses in Topshop. I’m not usually one for basic pieces, as you’d know if you ever opened up my wardrobe – nearly every piece has a pattern. But all I could think was one, how good they’d be just to throw on for uni (on the days I don’t care what I look like), and two, how comfy they seemed. I picked out the blue version, it’s sort of a duck-egg yet icy blue colour which I thought would switch up my style a little. Now, as you’ll see from the odd picture, the dress isn’t the most flattering, especially when under a jacket because it bunches up since it’s oversized. However, it’s that comfy that I really couldn’t care less.
Putting the dress into action, I wore it for a little day trip to Manchester last week. I styled it with tights and boots; my pre-Christmas sale bargain of a jacket; and my sister’s scarf. I felt oh so cosy for the whole day despite Manchester’s frosty breeze. And while wearing it, I realised just how nice the colour is.
Speaking of the pastel shade, I’ve been taking more of an interest in muted shades and blush tones. They just seem to dominate the shops at the moment and have that ethereal feel if you get the right pieces. Or, you can totally “glam” them up with a statement choker and gold hoops. Definitely on my wish list for 2017…and tomorrow’s shopping trip.
Much love, and happy new year!
