year abroad :: short but sweet

Finally!!! I have time for a blog post.

So I’ve officially been in France three weeks as of tonight. I can’t believe three

weeks ago I was on a plane to Bergerac.

I genuinely never expected to feel quite as home as this. Of course, it’s not simple. Every day there is something new I learn, and I am 99.9% swamped in paperwork; but I love every moment. It’s everything I wanted, and the more I do, the more people I meet, and the more I converse with people, the more I feel at home.

I’ve been describing France as my “second home” when the students ask me: “Do you like France?” France is so dear to me, and Angoulême is 100% my first destination when the holidays begin.

I have endless stories already, and could chew your ear off with how much has happened. And as and when I get the chance, I’ll be sharing everything on here. But I post a lot on Instagram @ku_layrosas and that’s always the best way to keep up-to-date if you’re at all interested.

There’s reasons why I am here that where not of my choosing, but also I’m so freakin’ proud of myself for worked my absolute hardest and pulling this all off. It’s safe to say I am not the most hardworking person, and I certainly am lazy at times, but when I want something, I get it because I focus on it.

I can’t wait to share more with you.

Love,

Anna
