new chapters post healing, collective presence, and the necessity of alone time

The urge to write has returned.

I’ve been waiting for you – this feeling.

And so with that, let’s dive into some topics that have arisen for me of late and some other happenings.

A new chapter

In three weeks time I will be starting a new job.

That is quite scary to say after my previous employment experiences.

Handing in my notice was painful because I have loved where I am.

I can only describe it as healing, after what was a difficult time in recovery from anxiety, burnout and grief.

I lost a lot of trust in others after my past experiences and struggled to be around people for a very long time, so to have settled into a welcoming, homely workplace has been healing.

Collective presence

This is where I feel collective presence has entered in.

Working as one machine.

People being true to themselves.

Not chasing the hustle that I’ve experienced.

Leading with kindness.

There is a true collective presence where I have been working that is healing and comforting.

A family feel.

Preparing for what is to come

Despite how I feel about where I currently work, I am so enthused to be opening the new chapter of the novel that is my life.

The thought of meeting new people excites me, let alone embracing new challenges and working on new technologies and a different area of products to what I’m experienced in.

Alone time

It has been a while since I had some time to myself.

I don’t feel as disconnected from myself as I used to feel, as recently my batteries have been very recharged when I am with others.

I describe weekends at my boyfriend’s as “recharging my batteries” because being embraced in warm hugs not only soothes my soul but ignites my creativity, my enjoyment of life, and my openness to the world.

But despite this, I have been feeling the urge to take some time out for myself.

Therefore, I have book an hour of yoga.

Going solo.

I didn’t invite anyone.

I don’t even do yoga.

But I don’t feel nervous, I feel ready.

I’m not going because I need to be good at it.

(The açai collab was a big draw.)

I’m going to feel present and free at 9:30 on a Saturday morning…

Afterwards, I intend to do some journalling.

Handling change

I do feel resilient. And I’m often described by my friends as resilient.

But embracing change is one thing. Handling it is another.

I am preparing myself to be very aware of how I am handling change over the next few weeks.

A new job. A new commute. A new role. A new company. New colleagues.

I hope it’s a smooth transition but I am sure there will be moments where the change will feel a lot to handle.

But handle I will.

Even if it’s messy.

Love,

Anna
